Improvement Practitioner Course - Starting Soon!

Do you want to increase your knowledge, capability and skills to drive forward sustained change at Cardiff and Vale UHB. Our Improvement Practitioner Course will give you get you equipped to do just that.

This course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and experience to:

  • Begin recognising the processes you work within in your service and how they can be improved.

  • Deliver demonstrable, sustainable improvements for the organisation using a structured problem-solving method.

  • Use different tools to engage and facilitate stakeholders in identifying, describing, understanding and solving problems in the delivery of services.

What’s involved?

To successfully complete the programme, you will be expected to:

  • Attend all the in-person workshop sessions

  • Complete and submit the workshop assignments

  • Complete and submit a learning journal and pass an open book test

  • Deliver and present an improvement project which will be assessed

Who’s it for?

This programme is for individuals whose current or future job responsibilities include leading on or supporting improvement projects in their place of work. Although some training/experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory as the essentials are covered in the programme. If you have no prior experience, you may need to spend a little more time undertaking self-directed learning.

How is the programme conducted?

This certification programme takes place over several months and provides in-person learning with some self-directed learning, assignments, exercises and test – which will take on average 18 hours in total. In addition, you will also need to put time aside to work on your improvement project, please do not underestimate the time needed for this, it’s typically 4 to 8 hours a week dependent on the project.

- Tuesday, July 9th: Half-Day, In-Person
- Monday, July 15th - Wednesday, July 17th: Full Days, In-Person
- Tuesday, September 10th - Wednesday, September 11th: 2 Days, In-Person
