Meet the Team: Sue Hostler

Sue is The Change Hub’s Portfolio Manager. The Change Hub are one of the three functions of Shaping Change, delivering Cardiff and Vale UHB's strategic priorities. They are a team of skilled, experienced, change management experts, who facilitate and accelerate large-scale transformation.

Sue is an experienced project manager with a proven track record in both the private and public sectors, particularly within healthcare. She currently holds a key position in the Cardiff and Vale Health Board, helping teams optimize their projects and processes towards effective healthcare delivery.

Meet Sue…

1. Describe your job in three words? Fascinating, challenging and rewarding.

2. What are you enjoying working on right now? Updating our organisational project management templates and The Gloves Off Project where we are working with colleagues to reduce glove usage, I am taking on a mentoring role within this work.

3. What do you love about working within Shaping Change? How trusted and empowered you are and working with lovely people!

4. The most challenging part of your role? There can sometimes be the perception that project/programme management is time consuming and unnecessary but it’s such a undervalued skill that I’m passionate about and know delivers positive change.

5. How would you describe what Shaping Change do to a colleague that knew nothing about our team and the work we do?  

Shaping Change has 3 functions. Improvement and Implementation, Innovation and The Change Hub. We provide service improvement support, help to develop programme governance, mentoring, workshop facilitation and help bring in new technology for the future of healthcare.

6. Who would you most like to swap places with for the day? Hermione Granger - she is so cool!

7. What did you want to grow up to be when you were younger? Ballet Dancer

8. Last book you read? First Lie Wins, Ashley Elston. I couldn’t put it down!

9. What are you looking forward to this year? Holidays!
